The deputy minister of Justice, Mr Joe Nhlanhla whose responsibility was intelligence became seriously ill President Mbeki appointed Miss Lindiwe Sisulu on 24 January 2001 as a replacement for Mr Nhlanhla, and appointed Charles Nqakula to the position of Deputy Minister of Home affairs, a position previously held by Miss Sisulu.en
