She has been a member of the ANC since 1986. In 1999, she was elected as chairperson of the Joe Gqabi branch of the ANC women's league and held that position until 2009. She has never been requested to set out her experiences on the question of parlimentary oversight in relation to allegations of corruption or fraud in the public sector or the state capture.en
