Description
Mr Laher has been called to commission to testify about the evidence that has been given in relation to the acquisition of locomotives by Transnet. The evidence relates in particular to the 1064 locomotion acquisition and the acquisition of 100 electric locomotives. The 1064 locomotives that was split between diesel and electric the diesel award went to GE and China North Rail CNR. The electric award went to Bombadier and CSR China South Rail and that occurred in approximately March of 2014 the contract value was an enormous approximately R50 billion.
